Special Event Keys is a family business, run by a Daughter/Father team. Madeleine and Frank rely on a great team of graphic designers, customer service managers, and computer gurus to help make it run like a well-oiled machine.

Will the customized hotel keys actually work?

Yes! We just need to know what type of system your hotel uses and then we’ll provide you with a fully functional memorable key that’s yours to keep. The main question is whether or not your hotel uses magstripe cards or proximity cards. If you are not sure, the best place to start is your contact at the hotel for your room block. What is the difference between a magstripe card and a proximity card?

It’s not normally something you’d need to know, but the main difference is how each card works to open the hotel door. The magnetic stripe card is the more familiar type of card that has the black stripe down the back that you insert into the hotel lock to open the door. The proximity card uses radio frequency to open the door without having to be inserted. It is crucial that we know which type of card your hotel uses because otherwise your key just won’t work.

How do I know the baggage tag will stay in place?

We know how important it is to be able to rely on our bag tags, so they are made with the highest quality materials. The plastic is polycarbonate and is strong but flexible. The screw clasp is made out of braided stainless steel, and is rust resistant. But don’t just take our word for it. We even have scuba divers who use our tags for their gear in and around salt water and they’ve not had any problems!

How quickly can you turn around my order?

For standard customer-customized orders we typically ship within 1-2 business days. If you are working with a graphic designer for a bespoke design for your order, how long it takes it depends on the design process.

Can I track my order?

Absolutely. We want you to have full confidence in when you’ll be getting your items. You can track your order from start to finish once you create an account or if you check out as a guest we will send you a tracking number once your order has shipped.

I’ve made a mistake with my order, can I change it?

Unfortunately, because our turnaround time is so fast, we cannot change an order once it is submitted. We ask that you double and triple check your order before you submit it. We give you live previews of your card before you click the purchase button, so you’ve got every change to make sure everything is correct!
